Invasion of the Schwabbels -
Object Performance (2017) The Schwabbels are electronic beings whose bodies consist of a plastic sacks filled with water, electronic elements and a plexiglass ladle. When passers-by approach the Schwabbels, they make themselves noticeable by shaking themselves when they are not taking a break and recharging their batteries with energy via solar cells. The Schwabbels are constantly being further developed and thus undergoing a kind of artistic evolution. The focus is on the process of change. The current stage of development still seems very harmless, but the prospect of further development steps raises questions about the development of current and future technologies and their controllability. Those who would like to support the development of the Schwabbels can do so through a sponsorship. In this way you can participate in the project and become part of the work. The direct contact to the audience is another aspect of the work. The questions and reactions of the audience were suggestions for the further development of the Schwabbels. |
